Contributions pay for literature, signs, and postage.
Contributions pay for the signs, mailers, and literature that reach voters, and for the events where we meet people face to face.
Before you contribute
- California law limits contributions to this committee to $5,900 per person, per election. The primary and the general are separate elections, each with its own limit.
- Contributions to a candidate committee are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal or state income tax purposes.
- If you give $100 or more, California law requires the committee to record and publicly report your name, street address, occupation, and the name of your employer. If you are self-employed, report the name of your business.
- Contributions of $100 or more may not be made in cash and may not be made anonymously.
- You must contribute your own funds. It is unlawful to contribute in someone else's name, or to be reimbursed by another person for a contribution you make.
- Federal law prohibits contributions from foreign nationals. By contributing you confirm that you are a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident.
- Contributions to this committee are reported to the filing officer and become part of the public record.
